RevCast: from RevolutionSF.com
Commentary, criticism and comedy about movies, TV and all corners of geeky genres and culture. A sci-fi convention in your pocket.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a new Batman: Ben Affleck! And as it does, the online nerd community reacts with the calm, reasoned response we've come to expect: outrage, hair-tearing and angry, threatening comments. *sigh*

So once more RevNews host Gary Mitchel turned on the Nerd Signal to call Deanna Toxopeus, Tegan Hendrickson, Michael Falkner, and Nathan Laws to discuss the announcement and the fan (over)reaction; talk about what they would (and would not) like to see in the upcoming movie; discuss why the geek community seems to be reacting so badly to everything these days; and to try to get everyone to CALM DOWN.

It's time for another one of our retrospective looks at the Doctor.  This time, Deanna Toxopeus, Gary Mitchel and very special guest (and Doctor Who expert) Graeme Burk turn their eyes to the Third Doctor, as portrayed by the late John Pertwee.  They look at the particular quirks of this doctor, his companions and his notable missions.  There is a great discussion about the Master.  We also learn that the Doctor fought more with an Akido rather than a Kung-Fu.

Our theme music this episode is "Cultists On Board" by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, courtesy of Divine Industries.  A reminder about our feedback address: revcast@revolutionsf.com.  Jo or Sarah?  Who's your fave?

Wil Wheaton.  Everything he touches turns to gold right now.  Guest spots on some of TVs biggest shows.  Several books in print.  A YouTube series with tousands of followers.  And convention sutograph lines that stretch for hours.  But why?  Why is the former Wesley now so popular?  What is it about him that draws the geek?  Join Deanna Toxopeus, Gary Mitchel and Tegan Hendrickson as they analyze the magic formula of Wil's popularity.  They laugh about the good bits, cry about the sad bits and marvel at the awesome bits.  It's Wheatonerific!
