RevCast: from RevolutionSF.com
Science fiction news and commentary with insight and humor, plus some really terrific short stories.

Well the hot, lazy days of summer are on us, and it appears that Hollywood can't be bothered to release many geek films this month, leading to one of the shortest podcasts ever.  And that's with the Week in Nerdliness and the Nerd News.  Still, our Podcast Queen Deanna Toxopeus and her faithful minion Gary Mitchel gather round the flickering computer screens, looking for something that might get you to sit in an air conditioned theater this month.  Without having to see Avengers again.

Stop me if you've heard this one.  A shapeshifter walks into a moon base . . . .

That's right, people, the Roundtable is taking a look at one of the classic cheesefests of the mid 1970s, Space: 1999.  So sit down with Deanna Toxopeus, Gary Mitchel and Van Allen Plexico asthey discuss pantsuits, retooling, and Eagles.  There is insight on the behind the scenes stuff.  Deanna also manages to link it to seaQuest, but that should surprise no one at this point.

Just in time for the end of June, it's the June movie podcast (insert Kermit yelling here).  So pull up a chair and listen to what Deanna Toxopeus, and Gary Mitchell have to say about the first batch of summer genre movies.  Were they right about Prometheus?  (Probably not.)  Will they be right about Brave?  (Of course they will!) Did you find their Nerd News and Week in Nerdliness informative?

Avengers!  That team of Marvel superheroes that aren't in the X-Men or the Fantastic Four.  They got a movie in May that has been smashing records left, right and centre.  So we here at the roundtable gathered up Avengers expert Van Allen Plexico to discuss the friends of Fury with Deanna Toxopeus and Gary Mitchell. SPOILER WARNING:  They spend a lot of time on the movie, so if, like Deanna, you haven't seen yet, maybe you shouldn't listen.

Have you been wondering why the podcasts have been so slow in coming out recently?  Well this is one of the reasons.  The Roundtable made the long list of the Parsec nominations, so Deanna Toxopeus, and Gary Mitchell have been working hard on our clip submission.  Given that we just finished it and submitted it to the competition, we thought our listeners would like to listen to the sumission.  So we present it to you as a fun interstitial.

And you did hear our usual theme music this episode is "Cultists On Board" by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, courtesy of Divine Industries on this clip too.

Thanks to all our listeners for their support over the last three years.

Do you remember May?  So do we.  And we remember that we taped a movie edition for that month, that for some reason it didn't make it out until now.  So come take a walk down memory lane with Deanna Toxopeus, Gary Mitchel and Van Allen Plexico as they look at the movies that were coming out in May and wax poetic over The Avengers.  Trust us, there is a lot of time spent there.  In addition, there is the nerd news and week in nerdliness.  What more can you ask for?  (Aside from this coming out before the end of May.)

It's finally happened.  Our podcast queen, Deanna Toxopeus , has used her power to convene a seaQuest panel on the Roundtable.  Joining her to discuss this much loved (and maligned) show, is Jessa Phillips and James Palmer. They talk about the appeak of the show, the characters and favourite episodes.  They also spend a lot of time discussing the drama that surrounded this show, including reboots, revolving cast doors and flamewars between producers and fans.  And given all that, it is not surprising that this is a supersize podcast.
