Commentary, criticism and comedy about movies, TV and all corners of geeky genres and culture. A sci-fi convention in your pocket.

Did you know that good old Cap was 70 years old this year? Neither did we, and yeah, that makes him good old fossilized Cap. So we here at the Roundtable decided that kind of longevity deserved its very own special podcast. Our Podcast Queen Deanna Toxopeus, Gary Mitchell Michael Emond and special guest (and Avengers expert) Van Allen Plexico look at the characters history, costume, bad movie adaptations and what is coming up for the greatest (and positively archaic) hero. Plus they give you the nerd news and the Week in Nerdliness.

Don't worry Cap! You wear it well.

Deanna Toxopeus gathers Gary Mitchell and Emma Nicoletti to rub off the bottle that holds the magic of I Dream of Jeannie and see what appears.  They look at the subversiveness of a show that some have dismissed as sexist by some, spending more than their fair amount of time wondering if Jeannie had a belly buton or not.  They also reveal juicy tidbits like "Why in the heck would they make a Saturday morning cartoon out of this show?"  So get out your harem pants and settle in for a lively discussion!

We here at RevolutionSF apologize for the delay on this episode.  Illness hit our producer's house hard in the last two and a half weeks, delaying this episode.  But never fear!  Our Podcast Queen, Deanna Toxopeus and her minion of sunshine and happiness Gary Mitchell still give you their take on what is worth seeing and what you should just wait for DVD for this month in the teatres.  There is also the Week in Nerdliness and Nerd News.  So pretend it's March 1st and sit back and listen.

We had to get a really big table this week as our Podcast Queen, Deanna Toxopeus hosts a debate on the ultimate comic book match-up, Superman vs. Batman.  Batman has in his corner, Gary MitchellDavid Farnell  and Ika Koek.  Superman has some heavy hitters too, Michael Emond and Chris Roberson.  Yes, that Chris Roberson.   The two sides spend the whole episode debating who is better.  No nerd news.  Nor week in nerdliness.  Just a barenuckles fight over who is better, the Boy Scout or the Psychopath.

The great gods of TV land giveth and they taketh away.  Our Podcast Queen, Deanna Toxopeus is joined by Gary Mitchell to look at what has been given and what has been taken away this TV season.  They look at a whack of shows, including some you wouldn't think were genre, giving you an idea of what is going to survive and what is going away.  The also talk about the News from the Nerd World and their Week in Nerdliness.  So put down that remote and listen to the podcast.  Seriously, put down the remote.  It's your channel surfing that cost us The Cape.
