Commentary, criticism and comedy about movies, TV and all corners of geeky genres and culture. A sci-fi convention in your pocket.

Jul 17, 2012

Admit it, we've all been there.  Enjoying a Red Bull while catching up on your Internet rumours, and BAM! George Lucas is saying something like "Star Wars was a kids movie!" or "Empire Strikes Back is a terrible movie" or "Jar Jar is the real hero of series".  (OK, so we made that last one up.)  Suddenly the vein on your head begins to pulse.  The outer edges of your vision have turned red.  The Red Bull can has been compressed so hard by your fist that a black hole has formed in your rec room.

We hear at the Roundtable have had that happen to us.  Many times.  So much so that it got us thinking, does Lucas really mean all the things he says or is he jest messing with us to see what kind of reaction he can provoke?  Our Podcast Queen Deanna "Han Damn Well Shot First" Toxopeus gathers up Gary "I'm in the Other Franchise" Mitchel and special guest Michael "I Watch Way More Movies Than You" Faulkner  to explore the issue.  They also spend time with the Week in Nerdliness and the Nerd News in this supersized edition.

Our theme music this episode is "Cultists On Board" by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, courtesy of Divine Industries.
